Fire Chief Trisha Wolford will lead a discussion on "The Quiet Side of Leadership" that will impact leaders at every level.
About this Event
The Fairfax County Professional Fire & Rescue Officers Association and the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department Officer Development Training Unit are proud to host Fire Chief Trisha Wolford. The Chief will be discussing the "soft skills" of a leader - executive presence, relationship building, characteristics of a leader, daily tasks of those in leadership roles, and the knowledge that keep leaders in leadership positions...all the things “I wish I would have known” from previous Chiefs. Whether you’re a Chief Officer, future Chief Officer, or a fire service leader at any level, her experience and perspective, from being on the line as a firefighter/paramedic, through organizational and strategic level leadership positions in Montana and Spokane, Washington, to her appointment as the 12th Fire Chief of Anne Arundel County Fire Department, will provide you with timeless truths and insights into fire service leadership. Chief Wolford is the Fire Chief of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department in Maryland, one of the largest combination fire departments in the country. Anne Arundel County is 580 square miles, covered by 31 fire stations, which serve a population of almost 600,000 and she is responsible for 917 career firefighters, approximately 600 operational volunteer firefighters, 28 fire communications operators, and 56 civilian support staff. Promises to be a great discussion, looking forward to seeing you there!!
