NVERS is pleased to announce the kickoff of its virtual speaker series, featuring topical presentations from emergency management and public safety leaders across the country. On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Director Shelby Boston of the Butte County, California Department of Employment and Social Services will join NVERS for a presentation drawing on her vast experience with mass care & sheltering operations. Ms. Boston led her jurisdiction's mass care & sheltering response to the 2018 Camp Wildfire, as well as the 2017 Oroville Dam Spillway incident- the largest evacuation in California history. This presentation will share valuable lessons learned from these responses to a multi-disciplinary audience, and it will highlight leading sheltering practices that are transferable to Northern Virginia and the National Capital Region.

This webinar is open to any of our public safety and emergency management partners in Northern Virginia and the National Capital Region. Please RSVP below; you will receive a separate email confirmation with the webinar/conferencing details from NVERS staff.
