Virginia State Police field 244 calls for service on the road Friday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Between 6 and 10 a.m. on Friday, Virginia State Police dispatchers across the state fielded 244 calls for service.

During that same time period, state troopers responded to 74 traffic crashes and 52 disabled vehicles. As of 11 a.m., state troopers are on scene of 24 traffic crashes statewide.

Police went ahead and broke down crashes per areas of the Commonwealth:

Division VII – Fairfax (Prince William/Loudoun/Arlington/Alexandria/Fairfax) experienced: Traffic Crashes=6 Disabled Vehicles=10.

State Police wanted to take this opportunity to warn drivers to continue to be on alert for flooded roadways limited visibility, and slick conditions as the heavy rains continue through the day.
