Parts of Northern Virginia Under Flood Advisory

National Weather Service advisory is in effect through Thursday at 1 a.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for parts of Northern Virginia. The Advisory is in effect through Thursday at 1 a.m.

The area could see heavy downpours, thunderstorms and gusty winds this afternoon, according to The Capital Weather Gang.

The Advisory area includes Arlington County, the City of Alexandria, the City of Falls Church and the District of Columbia.

The weather service forecast is for the tide to be about 1 foot above normal this morning and up to 1.5 feet this evening at around high tide with minor shoreline inundation.
