NVERS Weekly Update, January 5-10
Last week at NVERS, efforts were ongoing to review regional capability gaps that need FY2014 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) funding; the Steering Committee will review capability gaps at the January 27th meeting. The Medical Supply and Pharmaceutical Working Group met Monday to discuss policy recommendations for future pharmaceutical repurchases. The group will also begin working on a sustainment plan for the 2014 Fiscal Year UASI requests. Next month the group anticipates meeting after the newly established Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) Working Group meeting.
Also, the Patient Tracking working group held it???s monthly meeting to discuss the deployment of the Patient Tracking System application. NVERS is finalizing the procurement of the iPad and iPad Mini tablet devices that will be used in the field to track patients. This meeting served to address any remaining concerns before the tablets and applications are procured and distributed to the participating jurisdictions.
Finally, the Long Term Care Mutual Aid Planning (LTC-MAP) held a conference call to discuss site visit dates and next steps for the project. These visits will be conducted between February and April 2014 and will be instrumental in building a comprehensive understanding of the services available at each facility across the region to support a medical surge event.
