NVERS Weekly Update, January 20-24
This week at NVERS, the Technical Writing Group held their annual Writing Retreat in Alexandria. Also this week, strides were made in planning for the upcoming Inclusive Emergency Management Workshop that will be held in Spring 2014. This workshop will build upon the information already presented in the Virginia Department of Emergency Management???s V-510 Course ???Emergency Operations Planning: An Inclusive Approach.??? It will also include guest speakers and feature a second day morning discussion focusing on the legal aspects of inclusive emergency management preparation. This event will be held April 9 ??? 10th.
The National Capital Region Emergency Response System (NCR ERS) also met this week and discussed future coordination efforts with the NCR Emergency Management Committee. The group also started the discussion of 2014 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) project priorities that will build regional capacity for the NCR.
Finally, the Long Term Care Mutual Aid Plan (LTC-MAP) project held two webinars this week to educate the project partners on the capabilities and resources available in the Virginia Hospital Alerting Status System (VHASS) and Regional Hospital Coordinating Center (RHCC) systems. The next LTC-MAP meeting will be on February 11th and 12th at the RHCC and will prepare participating healthcare facilities for site visits beginning later in February and continuing through April. 2014.
