NVERS Weekly Update, December 30-January 4

On Thursday January 2nd, the final Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)Train-the-Trainer course was held at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy. Sixteen representatives from Northern Virginia agencies participated in the lecture and hands on component of the course. The course gave officers the opportunity to practice using tourniquets, pressure bandages, and methods of moving injured persons. These representatives will return to their home jurisdictions to teach their officers in TECC techniques. The next phase of the TECC project will expand the capacity to Fire and EMS.

The Rapid Assessment Workshop was also held on Monday this week at the Prince William County Emergency Operations Center. NVERS would like to wish everyone a safe and productive 2014.
