NVERS Update- NVERS is now a nonprofit organization!

NVERS Steering Committee and Partners:

We are pleased to announce NVERS' IRS 1023 application for 501(c)3 status has been approved by the IRS.

Based on guidance from the IRS and the experience of our advisors, we were prepared for this process to take up to 2 years and consist of multiple back-and-forth question/answer sessions with the IRS.  Apparently, the application was detailed and clear enough the IRS was able to approve it in 47 days.  This is the fastest approval turn-around anyone we have spoken with has ever heard of.

Of course, this does not mean our work is done, instead it is just beginning.  Next we will be applying for Tax-exempt status in Virginia, developing donations receiving capabilities, and holding he first Board meeting in late April.

Thanks to Sue Snider, the NVHA Board and legal team and the new NVERS Board for all their diligent hard work to make this happen.
