Northern Virginia now the cloud king

Real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. says Northern Virginia has now passed the New Jersey-New York region as the largest data center market in the U.S., accounting for nearly 20 percent of the market share in enterprise demand so far this year.

JLL (NYSE: JLL) says there is already 7.3 million square feet of data center space in use in Northern Virginia, with nearly another 1 million square feet either under construction or planned.
