National EMS Week "EMS Strong: Called to Care"
May 15-21, 2016
This week, the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) recognizes EMS Week in Virginia and pays special tribute to all Virginia EMS personnel. We recognize your dedication and commitment to serving the citizens of the Commonwealth with quality prehospital care.
EMS for Children (EMSC) Day is Wednesday, May 18, and it raises awareness of pediatric health and the efforts being made to reduce child disability and death due to severe illness and injury.
We encourage everyone to post their local EMS Week activities on our Facebook and Twitter pages at Virginia EMS so that we can help promote them. Be sure to use the #EMSWeek hashtag. Additionally, we will share any special promotions that we receive from organizations offering discounts to providers during EMS Week.
The Office of EMS is also hosting an "EMS Strong" Essay Giveaway for an opportunity to recognize one of your very own and a chance to receive a full-size medical duffle bag for both you and the EMS personnel you feel deserves special recognition.
