Meet Lucy
As you may remember from one of our previous posts, this is Lucy. She is one of five Explosive Ordnance Detection (EOD) Canines (K9s) procured for the Northern Virginia Law Enforcement agencies who participated in the NVERS EOD K9 project earlier this year. The dogs and their handlers support an increased detection capability and ensures the effectiveness of not only the individual departments, but region, in fulfilling their mission during elevate threat levels.
Lucy, and her handler, Master Police Officer John Arnold, are currently training with NCR partner Montgomery County Police Department, in preparation of additional certification testing. When not posing for pictures, Officer Arnold and Lucy are hard at work at their home agency, George Mason University.
