NVERS is pleased to announce an upcoming offering of Incident Command System (ICS) Train the Trainer (V450). This two (2)-day course is provided by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), and will be hosted by the Inova Health System on November 8-9, 2023. Initial registration for this course is limited to healthcare and public health partners, and will be opened up to the broader region once initial demand for seats is met.
Participants will learn how to teach each of the ICS courses from experienced instructors. Graduates will be certified to teach the Introduction, Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Incident Command System courses (ICS 100 - 400), as well as the ICS For Senior Executives/Elected Officials course (ICS-402).

Please note: There are prerequisites for this course, including a short application (attached to this email) that must be submitted to VDEM.
Prerequisites:
- Successful completion of accredited IS 100, IS 200, ICS 300, ICS 400, IS 700 and IS 800.
- As of May 2019 ICS update all certifications must be dated after May 2019.
- Completion of E/L/G 191 (ICS-EOC Interface).
- Recognized qualification in techniques of instruction and adult education methodologies.
- Possess ICS practical experience or have served an as Incident Commander or in a command or general staff position, or have specialized knowledge and experience appropriate for the audience.
- Complete course application and have approval of their agency head.
- Applicants must be available as an ICS instructor for their facility/organization/locality/region during the 12 months following the course.
Submit completed and signed application and all prerequisites (ICS completion certificates and proof of qualification in adult education) to VDEM Training, Education and Exercise Division no later than three weeks prior to course start using the following link:
