The Northern Virginia Emergency Response System (NVERS) and our Regional Healthcare Coordination Center (RHCC) will conduct a regional bi-monthly communications drill on the fourth Wednesday of the month with all healthcare organizations that serve medically vulnerable populations (Long-Term Care, Dialysis, Home Health, Hospice, Behavioral Health, etc.).
On the day of the drill, the NVERS RHCC will create an event in the Virginia Healthcare Alerting & Status System (VHASS) and send a text to all medically vulnerable populations partners with an active profile. Participating facilities and organizations will have a 3-hour window to participate in the drill. Completing the drill tasks within VHASS will take approximately five (5) minutes.
Following the completion of this drill (and future iterations of the drill in November, January, March, etc.) NVERS staff will provide documentation of participation to assist participants in meeting their CMS or other accreditation requirements for communications drills.
