Description: This course provides participants with a broad introduction to emergency management as a community of practice and as a profession. Emergency management is
presented as a dynamic, multi-phased process that includes prevention, preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. Students come away with an understanding of roles,
responsibilities, and legal boundaries in emergency management as well as how these relate to the concept of serving the Whole Community.
Prerequisites: IS100, IS120, IS200, IS230, IS235, IS240, IS241, IS242, IS244, IS700, IS800
